So, Jane and I got a call out of the blue from Brian Kelsey “KELSEY ON THE HOUSE” who’s show is on Martha Stewart Living Radio! Did we wanna come on and talk about our new media training company??? Hello??? Of course we do!!!! Now I know that our company is official! For those of you who didn’t hear, it’s called “THE MEDIA MASTERS”. Good name, right? Okay Michael (my brother) yes, you thought of it! CREDIT!!
So, if you know me, I don’t exactly have the greatest radio voice.. My voice has always been an issue for me. It’s high and on top of that I have a lovely Long Island accent. You know when your voice is bad or just too distinctive? When people hear you and say, “Amy, I knew that was you on the other side of the wall. I recognized your voice!” Oyyyy, I guess that’s another thing I will change in my next life. But, then let’s look at the glass half full and say it hasn’t really hurt me.
The positives are, people know it’s you right away on the phone, and people can do and do do GREAT imitations of my voice. ” WHAT’S DOING????? (ONE OF EVERYONE’S FAVES). So, my point here is, I am not someone you would hire to be on air (ON THE RADIO). Jane on the other hand, has that perfect broadcasting voice. You just know she’s on TV when you hear it. Doesn’t hurt that she’s from the Midwest.
So, I bring the funny and the producer stuff to the table. She teaches you how to make your voice more professional. I should try it, but this voice just fits me!
Anyway we were on the radio for about 15 minutes talking about our new business. It is really starting to click now that it’s happening! I am still working on our website and that will be up and running really soon!
Yesterday in the studio was so much fun for me. First the beautiful and talented and nice Olivia Munn walked in. I had just watched NEWSROOM ON HBO the night before on Demand, so I was so excited to meet her. She is so nice. Really liked her.
Then i got a GREAT BLAST FROM THE PAST. My old friend Christina Deyo was here with Darcy Miller from Martha Stewart. I was so happy to see Christina. We worked at the Sally Jessy Raphael Show back in the good old days when we were doing topics like, “My Daughter Dresses Like a Tramp” and “My teen needs to go to boot camp”. Ahhhhhh i miss those days. Such INTELLECTUAL TOPICS!!! They really left an impact on all of us that worked there together. Every time I see someone from those days, we go immediately into a conversation of some of the crazy guests who were on the show.! Sooo funny!! Christina and I got so into it that we are having a Sally reunion so we can all laugh remembering those crazy days!
Thinking back, those were really the most fun, most creative times of my TV career. Christina now has SIX KIDS! My boy are 24 and 21.. TIME FLIES!
It’s been a great ride.. and I want you to experience all that I have in your career.
That’s why Jane and I are running a Media Training Boot Camp NEXT SATURDAY AUG 4TH.
